Simple, concrete, first-level needs come to the fore: the body, safety, pleasure, money. There is nothing shameful in them — this is the ground you stand on. Acknowledge your desires honestly, and they will stop ruling you from the shadows.

Basic needs go unanswered — through refusal, unwillingness or inability to meet them. When the body and simple desires are hungry, everything else starts to wobble too. Take care of the foundation: even the tallest tower rests on its base.
